My Personal Review on Ghajni

A GREAT ROMANTIC ACTION THRILLER FILM

GREAT BOX-OFFICE RECORD MADE BY THE FILM

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MANY OF MY FRIENDS AND RJ'S SAID THAT IT WAS AN OVER-ACTING OF AAMIR KHAN. MAYBE....BUT THE MESSAGE OF THE STORY IS GREAT.

SANJAY SINGANIA WAS A PATIENT OF SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS. BUT TO REMEMBER HIS TARGET, HE USED TO TAKE SNAPS AND USED WRITE EVERYTHING. WHEREAS WE'RE FIT YET WE CAN'T REMEMBER OUR RESOLUTION AND GOALS.
THIS IS A GREAT TEACHING FROM HON. PROFESSOR AAMIR KHAN.

MESSAGE OF THE FILM: "IF YOU STRIVE FOR ANYTHING YOU'LL ACHIEVE, THE ONLY THING YOU REQUIRE IS THE CORRECT PATH, PRESENCE OF MIND AND MADNESS ABOUT IT."

GREAT STORY
GREAT DIRECTION
GREAT MUSIC

MAYBE IT WAS NOT DIFFERENT THAN THE ORIGINAL GHAJNI, BUT THE AAMIR KHAN WAS GREAT IN GHAJNI!!!!!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RATING:6/10

MY THINKINGS/MY SUGGESTIONS:

  • I THINK CREATING SOMETHING DIFFERENT WAS POSSIBLE FOR AAMIR KHAN.
  • TOO VIOLENT.

Budget: INR 45 crore

Ghajini set record breaking opening weekend and opening week gross box office takings in India of Rs 700 million (GBP 9.55 million) and Rs 1.1 billion (GBP 15.01 million) respectively.

Ghajini began with a historic collection, collecting around Rs. 200 crores within two weeks worldwide. At the end of 15 days it had collected 190 crores thus, making a big history in Bollywood. It was a "super blockbuster film" and, it's songs were also hits.

It was released with around 1500 prints, of which 213 were released overseas. The movie had around 650 paid previews which fetched it around INR 70 million. The domestic distribution rights of Ghajini were sold for 53 crores and home video rights, overseas rights and satellite rights for another Rs 40 crore.

According to official box office business site businessofcinema.com Ghajini Collected US$ 15mn(Rs.72 crore) in the overseas market by 9th January 2009. The film has become the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time.

Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini is going strong at the box office and how! The movie's second weekend grossed Rs 300 million (Rs 30 crores) in India.

In the second weekend, occupancy levels at multiplexes ranged between 60 – 70 per cent, indicating there has been a drop of 30 - 40 per cent compared to the first weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) when the movie ran houseful shows.

The two weeks India collections of Ghajini stand at Rs 1.40 billion (Rs 140 crores) gross and worldwide collections is in the range of Rs 1.77 - 1.80 billion (Rs 177 - 180 crores).

In the overseas, the movie raked in collections of $1.9 million from North America in one week; whereas the UK gross was at $ 0.7 million. In the Middle East, Ghajini grossed $1.5 million in one week.

Ghajini grossed Rs 520 million (Rs 52 crores) and Rs 300 million (Rs 30 crores) in the first and second weekend respectively and showed a drop of 40 per cent. The evening and night shows at most multiplex cinemas ran housefull on Saturday and Sunday.

The movie did see a drop today (Monday, 5 January), but multiplex officials are evidently pleased with Ghajini's performance. The movie has set record collections of the year in multiplex properties. Also a drop of 40 per cent in the second weekend is not bad at all, especially since it had such a wide and extended release window.
